Gambling SEO #SmellsLikeSomethingBurning

$106,000 per Month from SEO Traffic with a Single Page

$106,000 per Month from SEO Traffic with a Single Page

At conferences and in niche chats, everyone keeps saying that SEO in iGaming converts beautifully. But there are almost no full-scale public cases to back that up. Today, we're fixing that.

«Smells Fishy» — a column where we put questionable cases up for public scrutiny. Read and decide for yourself: ✅ believe it or ❌ don't.

Preparing the Site for Ranking

We're talking about a mono-brand gambling project targeting Brazil. The team bought a relevant dropped domain that had no prior connection to iGaming. They ordered content from a native speaker and set up 404 redirects from all old pages to the homepage.

The site was built on bare HTML, with no CMS involved. Thanks to that and solid technical optimization, the resource scored 100 on PageSpeed. Just one day after being indexed, the page started ranking in the TOP 5–10 for several keywords.

Over 5 months, the team actively purchased links in various formats: guest posts, homepage links, PBN. Analytics tools show 8,000 links from 1,700 domains.

Interestingly, no further work was done on the content, and no additional pages were created. The project exists as a single homepage, with all link equity funneled into it. In theory, this approach sounds outdated — but it works.

Traffic Dynamics

In the first month of ranking, the project secured positions at the top of the SERP, but the real boost came in month 5, when high-frequency keywords started kicking in.

The case authors note that the project reached TOP 1–3 for all target keywords. Over 20 days in October, according to Google Search Console, the project received impressions across 1,000 keywords with a combined search volume of 3,580,000. Total clicks came in at 357,000.

The keyword pool is fairly large for a mono-brand, but 80% of all impressions are driven by just one keyword. That said, even if it drops from TOP 1 in the future, traffic won't fall through the floor.

Financials and Takeaways

The site started generating profit in its very first month — which is unusual for the SEO niche, where results can take years to materialize. Monetization is done through a referral link to the casino's website.

Stats for the first 4 months look like this:

$625 $8,561 (+1269%) $25,105 (+193%) $17,365 (-30%)

Over 20 days, the referral link drove 284,985 clicks, with a click2reg rate of 4.64% and reg2dep of 19.7%. The registration rate is low because traffic is being sent to a cross-brand rather than a mono-brand. Not all companies are willing to buy branded traffic, and sending it to a broader audience is a way around that problem.

Over 5 months, using a tracker and report analysis, the team tested several dozen different products to identify the most profitable ones. The average CPA rate is $40–50. In total, 2,613 FTDs came in, amounting to $106,151.

So, a single-page site generated $106k in revenue in its 5th month alone. Over 5 months in total, the project brought in $157,000 against $18,000 in expenses. Net profit — $139,000, ROI 772%.

The case shows that SEO can convert really well. But it's worth keeping in mind that out of dozens of similar sites, only a handful are likely to generate this kind of profit down the line. Quality content and solid links still drive traffic effectively. The entry threshold for tier 1–2 GEOs keeps rising, and costs are scaling proportionally.
