Anti-OnlyFans from an ex-OF model: a review of the Hidden platform

OnlyFans has held the top spot in the adult subscription content niche for years — 4.63 million creators and 377.5 million users. Competing with a giant like that is like launching a marketplace next to Amazon. But in April 2025, that's exactly what 18+ model Stella Barey did — a creator who previously earned up to $300,000 per month on OnlyFans.

In this article, we break down what Hidden offers, how the platform differs from OnlyFans, what the early numbers look like, and whether there's any potential for building funnels. 

What you need to know about Hidden

Hidden is an adult platform built on a "TikTok for adults" model. After a basic age verification, users land in a feed where an algorithm curates videos based on their interests. The first paywall appears on a creator's profile: to unlock the feed, view content, or send a direct message, users need to pay. 

The founder is Stella Barey, a 28-year-old model who entered the industry through TikTok during the pandemic. Her story is typical for Gen Z in the adult vertical: viral TikTok videos → move to OnlyFans → $8,000 in the first month, $40,000 in the second, and $300,000 in 30 days at peak. 

The idea for the platform emerged back in 2023, when a friend of Barey's suggested she build her own adult site. A co-founder handles the business side, while Barey herself covers the creative and product direction. 

Platform stats as of November 2025: 115,000 users and over 2,200 creators. The vast majority of users are male, while the creator base is predominantly female. For comparison, OnlyFans has 377.5 million users and 4.63 million creators. 

Worth noting separately is the leadership team — they are active 18+ content creators with established fan bases. In December 2025, Lana Rhoades joined as CCO and co-owner; in March 2026, Ari Kytsya came on board as CMO. 

All three top executives are current or former Pornhub and OnlyFans models. This fundamentally sets Hidden apart from the rest of the market, where product decisions are typically made by people with no experience on the other side of the camera.

Barey acknowledged in an interview with Wired that none of Hidden's features are new. What's interesting is something else — they've been brought together in one place for the first time.

An 18% commission versus 20% on OnlyFans. The difference is smaller than you'd expect — for most creators, it's not a compelling enough reason to migrate to a new platform. 

Chargeback protection up to $2,500. The platform covers disputes from users attempting to reverse payments through their bank. OnlyFans offers no such protection, and this is a painful issue for top creators with high average transaction values.

Personalized algorithm. On OnlyFans, creators have to drive traffic themselves from Reddit, Threads, X, and TikTok. Hidden takes that responsibility on itself. The algorithm pushes older videos alongside new ones — an attempt to create "passive income" instead of an endless treadmill of new content.

A store with content bundles. According to Barey, around 80% of creators' revenue comes from private message sales of videos and custom packs. Hidden is trying to shift part of that logic into a public shop: so a user can "buy 50 videos at 3 a.m." without any back-and-forth messaging.

A dedicated account manager with a response time of up to 24 hours. This is a direct jab at OnlyFans, where issues with shadowbans and payout delays typically sit in support tickets for weeks.

An AI CRM in development — a system designed to assist with pricing, message sorting, and customer insights. Barey noted that third-party CRM services for the adult niche cost creators $200–300 per month, and Hidden plans to offer an equivalent for free.

A TOP-20 profit leaderboard launched in December 2025 alongside the Lana Rhoades announcement. A daily ranking of top creators with a prize pool of up to $30,000 per 24 hours — a classic gamification mechanic that works well in other verticals but had never been applied systematically in adult content before.

Affiliate niche prospects 

Hidden looks like a fresh product with a solid concept and execution, but for now it holds limited appeal for solo affiliates and teams running adult traffic. A few hundred thousand in audience is a number you'd find even on forums somewhere in Tier 2–3 GEOs. 

As of April, the platform has no official affiliate program or referral program. Its current focus is on acquiring new creators, with priority given to influencers who already have an established fan base. 

The platform's core USP is passive income for creators through the algorithm — not maximizing CR from new users. As a result, most creators are unlikely to want to pay affiliates for audience acquisition. 

Affiliate tools will most likely appear later — if the team decides to scale aggressively. Or they won't appear at all, if Hidden stays a niche product with organic growth through social media. 

OF agencies, however, should take a closer look at the platform. It's worth registering a few models with an audience on TikTok/X on a test basis and tracking the conversion into Hidden subscriptions. 

Conclusions

Hidden is interesting not because of its commission rates and chargeback protection — those are features that can easily be copied. What's unique about Hidden is that the product is being built by people who have personally driven traffic to OnlyFans and know all the pitfalls firsthand. Hence the focus on passive income, plus a bet on the algorithm rather than endless new content creation.
