OnlyFans vs Classic Traffic Arbitrage: What's the Difference?

OnlyFans vs Classic Traffic Arbitrage: What's the Difference?

Hey everyone, I decided to write another article for Palai Media — the guys are great, so it's time to drop some exclusive content and help grow the Ukrainian community.

You can read the first article here:

How an OnlyFans Agency Works: The Adult Content Business from an Owner's Perspective

Today I want to take a deep dive into a topic that has been on a lot of people's minds for a while: what's the difference between the OnlyFans niche and adult traffic versus classic traffic arbitrage.

Yes, I fully understand that at first glance, arbitrage and OnlyFans seem like two completely separate directions with nothing in common. But if you look at it from a different angle, both OnlyFans and adult involve driving traffic, and both have their own working funnels.

However, I want to point out one key difference: in adult, funnels exist and keep working for much longer. As a result, many readers of this media and my Telegram channel often ask themselves this very question. So today we're going to break it all down in detail — piece by piece — to help you really understand this topic.

To give you a clearer picture of how I operate: I have my own traffic team that delivers consistently strong numbers. Specifically, they generate between 200 and 300 leads per day for each individual model.

With a classic arbitrage approach, unfortunately, hitting those kinds of numbers turns out to be impossible — and that's been proven in practice. So today we'll break down exactly what works in my approach and how it actually works.

Let's start with the basics: why OnlyFans business ≠ traffic arbitrage

The OnlyFans niche isn't just a platform — it's a full-fledged niche with a complex operational approach, encompassing many different directions, each of which requires attention and understanding.

Today we'll focus on two central aspects of this approach:

  1. Classic traffic driving — involves attracting new visitors and increasing visibility.
  2. Building your own team — helps you scale your revenue volume.

This scaling approach will get you to significant results faster and, most importantly, more easily — because you can outsource or delegate the core processes and use your free time to focus on additional growth work.

Adult can turn out to be a genuinely interesting space that captures your attention. In this article, I want to share my hands-on experience and verified insights that will open up new horizons and give you plenty of new ideas and concepts. But even if you're already familiar with this niche and moving in this direction, I'm confident you'll still find something new and useful. So share your thoughts after reading!

When it comes to traffic specifically, a lot of arbitrage guys can burn out fast by going in with the wrong mindset about advertising — thinking you can just run ads on Facebook, redirect them to OnlyFans, collect potential subscribers, and call it a day. Oh, if only it were that simple! 😁

But the reality is far more complex and requires a much closer look. So let's get into the details...

How traffic works in the OnlyFans business vs. traffic arbitrage

If you already know how to drive decent traffic — whether through Facebook (FB), Google, or something else — that knowledge will 100% come in handy right away. At the very least, your brain is already wired for these mechanical processes, which will definitely have a positive impact. But here's the thing: Facebook and Google aren't used as primary sources here — that traffic is extremely expensive, and the cost per subscriber to a profile can easily reach $3–5.

In our niche (adult), there are far more interesting, cheaper, and most importantly, more stable funnels than plain Facebook. That said, Facebook does play a key role when traffic is being driven specifically to a model's blog rather than directly to her OnlyFans (OF) page.

And let's not forget — traffic going straight from FB to OF is a cold lead that still needs to be warmed up and nurtured. The classic concept of driving traffic from FB to OF and getting paid for it does work here too, but there are plenty of nuances you need to know. Because if you're driving the wrong audience — just any general target audience for the sake of it — there will be no sales at all, and your ongoing traffic spend simply won't pay off.

I'll note upfront that you can go searching the internet for articles claiming massive results from various traffic sources — but I'd caution you: there's no guarantee any of it is true. For example, push and popunder traffic just doesn't perform the way you'd want it to, so be careful when running campaigns.

The adult niche, and OnlyFans in particular, is very different from all the classic, cookie-cutter ideas about promotion. We have our own sources, ad accounts, our own cost-per-subscriber benchmarks, and our own methodology.

When I see an arbitrage agency advertising that they drive traffic to OF at $0.50 per lead, it makes me laugh — knowing full well that in 99% of cases, it's a straight-up scam targeting the OnlyFans team.

So, one of the noticeable differences between arbitrage and the OnlyFans niche and direction is that in the latter, you can have complex teamwork — a team you build and use to run traffic to your own models — whereas arbitrage is more about driving traffic for someone else through affiliate programs.

Affiliate Programs

There are affiliate programs for OnlyFans too, but they don't really work out — because, just like in classic arbitrage, affiliate programs that pay per lead offer pennies. That's why very few people in adult use affiliate programs. Traffic here is quite cheap, so it's more profitable to keep your own team than to send that traffic to someone else. The average cost on OF is around $0.5–0.6 per subscriber, which is quite attractive.

So it turns out that driving traffic to someone else through affiliate programs is simply not worth it — your time will end up being worth almost nothing. That's why many guys hire their own girls and drive their own traffic to them, earning several times more as a result.

But if you do want to run traffic specifically to affiliate programs, you'll have a fairly wide choice — or you can send it all directly to the agencies you negotiate with. Fair warning upfront: don't count on earnings of more than $2–3k.

So, affiliate programs for OF are more useful for testing and learning how everything works — actual earnings will come from something more serious.

Main Traffic Sources for OF

When it comes to traffic sources, I can say that over five years of working in adult, I've tested a large number of different sources. It's worth noting that I came into this space when there wasn't even any established system yet, so speaking from experience — here's what worked before and still works now: ⁃ Reddit ⁃ Pornhub ⁃ Traffic Junkie ⁃ Instagram ⁃ TikTok ⁃ SFS ⁃ GG ⁃ X.com ⁃ Fikfap ⁃ Sex.com ⁃ Redgifs

These sources provide the opportunity to get very stable, relatively cheap, and most importantly — targeted traffic to profiles. The main key to success in adult is targeted, hot traffic. Cold leads are simply not needed here, as they don't deliver the desired results. So the main appeal of these sources is that they allow you to attract exactly the kind of traffic that generates strong sales volume on profiles. Using them, you can significantly boost your performance in this space.

As an example, here's a concrete look at the numbers you can achieve with quality traffic from these sources:

As for traffic costs, the price can range from $0.3 to $1, and that's for Tier 1 countries. In my opinion, the cost per lead in our niche is extremely low, which makes it especially attractive for mass acquisition — particularly when a single lead can bring in $50, $100, or even $1,000 in profit.

There are also different approaches to working with traffic:

The classic traffic-driving method is self-explanatory, but there's an additional, highly relevant method — something similar to influencer marketing, only in the online space. You can turn models who work online into popular blogger-influencers by actively developing their personal brand, social media presence, and so on. This allows you to reach a much larger audience, build your own fanbase, and as a result, generate significantly higher revenue with the same staff and the same team.

The next important question is: how significantly can revenue grow compared to the classic method? Based on my observations, profit can increase by 1.5–2x, sometimes reaching 3x.

So there's more than enough sources and approaches — but knowing the sources alone won't get you far. Because what comes next is another key difference from arbitrage.

OnlyFans Is a Complex Operation

I'm confident that anyone reading this material already knows how arbitrage works. So I want to explain in detail how working on OnlyFans actually goes and what you need to get started — from scratch, from the very preparation stage. These will be practical recommendations from my own experience. Let's go!

I also want to add that while OnlyFans is quite a complex operation, it's not as difficult as you might imagine — because many things only need to be learned once, and after that it gets significantly easier. OnlyFans is the kind of thing where you launch one model, and every subsequent one will be 5–10 times easier, since everything has been tested and you'll have a full understanding of what to do and how.

It's important to understand that if you want to start working on OnlyFans, you should immediately study the current strategies available in our market — without them, all your efforts will be wasted and results will either break even or go negative. You need to map out a structured, clear plan for entering OnlyFans, and understand that you'll need:

  • a model — needed to supply photos and pass verification on platforms. You can find one yourself or purchase access. At this point, it's the easiest part of getting started.
  • packaged profiles — across various platforms, you need to build proper funnels so that people reach the OnlyFans profile in the desired volume, which means the packaging itself has to be done right.
  • sexters — these are people who will manage the profiles, hold conversations with the subscribers you drive in, and sell photos and videos. This is where the primary revenue comes from.
  • traffic — needed across various pages, from social media to the OnlyFans profile itself. It's what makes the profile and the model generate revenue for you. Finding targeted traffic isn't difficult — but converting it to OF already requires testing funnels.

Once you've completed each of the points outlined above, you need to bring it all together and set it up so that everything runs like a well-oiled machine.

If you want to enter the adult niche and "simply" drive traffic, that will certainly bring in some money — but the real margin is with the owners.

That's right — affiliates don't need to constantly search for something "new" every day/week/month/year. In adult, you only need to thoroughly go through all the preparation stages once, complete all the prep processes according to requirements, and after that you'll see that everything is built to run for an extended period of time — months, and sometimes even years. This allows you to focus on other work tasks.

If everything was done correctly, the end result is a well-prepared, fully operational profile backed by stable funnels — and that's for a period of six months to a year.

Now — let's talk money

If you work in traffic arbitrage, your income is undoubtedly variable and noticeably dependent on a whole range of different factors. These can include market shifts, ranking changes, or even changes in search engine algorithms. You have to constantly adapt and respond to these changes in order to maintain a stable income from traffic and your business.

Take traffic ROI as an example — the average in adult is x4–6, and it can go even higher, since it all depends on the model type. Meanwhile, your ROI barely reaches x2–3, and your profit won't be anywhere near what it could be with the right execution.

The margin from traffic is quite high, leads are cheap, and there are plenty of them. Adult leads are horny buyers — they actively purchase photos and videos, because what they want isn't just to get off, but also to get the experience of communicating with a real girl. For that same reason, custom videos and photos are regularly ordered at prices several times higher than the standard rate. That's exactly why we see the revenue numbers we do.

I also want to note that reinvesting money here is, of course, part of the workflow — you don't need to constantly put in your own funds. You drive traffic once, it pays off, and then you reinvest a portion of that money back into traffic while splitting the rest and taking your profit.

After a preparation period of roughly one month, your profile generates $8–12K every subsequent month with stable, consistent numbers (on average, that's $10K per profile per month) — or you connect additional traffic sources and scale that figure by x2–3, getting your evergreen $$$. Yes, there are drawdowns and limitations here too.

I also want to show some screenshots of revenue stats from individual models of mine. These impressive results were achieved through the use of classic traffic acquisition methods, display advertising, and a well-structured sales funnel.

For those who are interested, I'm also adding a breakdown by clicks/visits/revenue. As you can see, a single subscriber can bring in $100+ — and these are the average figures we're working with.

I'll also point out that to achieve consistently high profitability, you need at least 5–6 traffic sources per model. This provides resilience against drawdowns and allows you to increase overall revenue volume.

I also want to emphasize that in adult there are several ways to work. You can be a contractor, work solo with 1 model, build your own online agency, or start building a physical business — there are many configurations, and I'm confident everyone will find their own. Let me break these down in more detail now.

Working with a model "solo"

If you want to work for yourself, manage traffic and one model on your own, and keep all the profit, it's enough to hire a sexter and decide on one of several model archetypes that are currently in demand. But how much can you actually earn? On average, working solo with one model, you can net around $2,000–$3,000 — after advertising costs, commissions, and other expenses have already been deducted.

What's the ceiling with this approach?

There won't be hundreds of thousands or millions here — I'll be straight with you: you won't be able to manage more than two models, so the earnings cap sits at around $4,000–$6,000 per month. Fair enough, that's not bad — but you can do more. Working solo, you'll spend 3–5 hours a day on the job, and adding one more model only adds 1, maybe 2 extra hours on top of that.

So, working solo is a solid option and, in my opinion, it's the best starting point you can make — since you're working entirely for yourself.

Now let's break down the online agency model

In general, this format is similar to affiliate teams, but there's one major difference — adult is a far more stable niche. Pornography always has existed, does exist, and always will. That's why teams rarely fall apart and tend to operate for years.

Of course, building a team and starting to scale is quite challenging, and you can burn out. That's why I have my own method for getting started in a way that gives you the best chance of success — you need to go through every stage yourself first. Roughly speaking, grow from solo management directly into building an agency, and that's already not as difficult as it sounds.

The earnings from this format are significantly higher. Proven from personal experience. My agency currently runs 12 models and nearly 40 employees, and I went through every stage step by step over 5 years. I can say with confidence that an online agency is the most optimal setup to work with in 2024.

I'd also like to address an important question about online capacity limits. Managing more than 15 models online can be an extremely challenging task. This is because that number of models can require 40 to 50 employees, and keeping all of them online is no small feat. It's possible, of course, but you'll need to organize all processes with great precision and thoroughness to make it work. With a well-structured approach to process management, you can generate a net profit of up to $20,000–$25,000 per month from such an agency. That's a very respectable figure that many people are working toward.

But once you reach that level of income, you naturally want more. And at that point, you have several options for further growth. You can open a physical agency — which we'll discuss next — or continue operating online while actively pushing your models into media.

And finally — the physical agency (office)

I want to be upfront: opening this kind of business is an extremely complex undertaking that requires significant effort and expertise. Without the right connections and network, it can be nearly impossible.

Just as there aren't that many offices in affiliate marketing compared to the number of teams, the same is true in OnlyFans — I'd even say there are far fewer. So I can say that the niche itself is quite large and, at this point, far from oversaturated.

This is largely because the startup requires a significant amount of resources and capital investment. In the current context of the situation in our country, I think this is no longer a realistic option. However, the earning potential here is considerably higher.

In terms of numbers — specifically for OnlyFans agencies — people in my circle and among my acquaintances can reach a net monthly profit of up to $100,000. A physical office places two to three times more responsibility on you than working online. So there's simply no ceiling with a physical agency. It's an enormous responsibility — but also an enormous earning opportunity.

What about the limitations, challenges, and constraints that can come up when working on OF?

There are two key points I want to highlight, and they carry significant weight in the context of this article.

The first aspect I'd like to address is finding employees. Affiliate marketing is a fairly popular niche, so there are far more people with relevant expertise. Adult is a different story — the niche is closed off, specialists are scarce, and as a result, hiring the right people becomes quite the quest.

The more of the right people you have in the right roles, the better your team will perform — and the higher your profits will be.

The second key aspect is control.

In adult, there are various CRM systems and manually built quality control processes for tracking employee performance. But unfortunately, keeping tabs on everything is extremely difficult. How employees conduct conversations with subscribers, what traffic is coming into a profile — all of it requires close monitoring and oversight. Fortunately, you can hire additional people to handle all of this, because there are simply too many processes for your own attention to cover.

Setting this up can take anywhere from one month to six months, depending on the size of your team and your organizational ability. This underscores the importance of a well-structured setup and effective management.

As for things like traffic, models, accounts, and so on — all of these can be acquired. And in reality, the problems that arise from this are far smaller than most people expect.

So what's the bottom line?

Arbitrage ≠ Working on OnlyFans, but your arbitrage knowledge will come in handy every single day. That's what makes it so much easier to get started, hit the right metrics, and — most importantly — achieve that clean, stable income that's increasingly hard to find in affiliate marketing right now.

In this context, when we talk about arbitrage, it means you constantly need to be searching, staying on the move, always looking for the next opportunity. OnlyFans, on the other hand, requires a significant upfront investment of time. But once that's done, you start seeing consistent profitability across your profiles. This allows for a more confident, stress-free way of running a business — without the constant hunt for new opportunities.

And here's the cherry on top. Based on stats from people I know, the average affiliate marketer works around 10 hours a day to net roughly $5,000 per month. In a comparable OnlyFans setup, you're looking at just 3–5 hours a day. And as we all know, time is money — so in the end, you're earning more $ per hour here than you would in arbitrage.
