X Prepares to Launch X Money Payment Service: Musk Announces Public Beta Test
Elon Musk announced that the X Money payment service will soon become available to early users of the X platform. The product is currently undergoing closed internal testing, with a limited public beta launch expected to kick off within the next one to two months.
X Money will serve as a built-in financial service allowing users to store funds, make transfers, and process payments directly within the X ecosystem. According to Musk, this service is set to become the foundation of all financial operations on the platform.
In preparation for the launch, the company has already obtained money transmission licenses in more than 40 U.S. states. X is also partnering with Visa, which will provide the payment infrastructure. Following Musk's announcement, speculation about potential cryptocurrency support within X Money has resurfaced. At the same time, the company has yet to confirm any integration of digital assets.
The launch of X Money is part of Musk's broader strategy to build a super app that combines social networking, payments, shopping, and other digital services in one place — a model often compared to China's WeChat.
